Awards for Fragments of Spirit

Ten years paid off last Tuesday! Fragments of Spirit won two 1st place EVVY gold awards—for top photo/art book and for top interior book design. This is so special because the well-spring of all my understanding of the independent book publishing business started many years ago when I became a member of Colorado Independent Publishers Association.

The award is so welcome because it fulfills three promises I made: one to the late Ron Wohlauer to complete a capstone, life’s-work project, to my late Mother who constantly urged my to get my photography into book form, and to husband Karl, my severest critic and best helper to edit and tell a story that progressed, uniquely mine, in a collection of imagery and memoir for six decades.

Just in time—Fragments was just acquired by the Denver Public Library for the Western History Collection. Yes there will be both circulating and reference copies.
