A huge success story is Colorado’s own John Fielder, whose back country hikes have taken him to remote and wonderful locations in all kinds of weather and seasons. He adds his personal commentary in some of his books; my favorite is Colorado Black on White. Other books compare historic photos with how the area looks now. Huge audience pleasers, made more valuable by luxurious coffee table size and rich bindings—all within reasonable gift price range. Anyone would love to pore through his stories at length.
